I am a Quality Process Specialist at our Peaugres production site.
What does your job entail?
The site at Peaugres includes four production units: biscuits, pasta, packaging, and our newest precooking facility. My role is to make sure that hygiene standards and production procedures are respected every day, ensuring that the products reaching our customers meet the highest quality and safety standards.
I monitor compliance with hygiene standards, production procedures, and product specifications every day. I also carry out quality checks on packaging, weight, and humidity levels to ensure our products meet all regulatory requirements.
When a quality issue is detected, I collaborate with the relevant teams to investigate the issue and assess its impact. Products are placed on hold until their compliance has been verified and then released to the market.
Can you describe a typical day at Ekibio?
I spend around 40% of my time in the office and 60% on the production units. My work involves analyzing and recording quality data, carrying out investigations, and ensuring that regulations and internal procedures are respected. I also spend a lot of time in the production units, working closely with operators discussing about quality indicators and regulatory requirements. Whenever a new product or process is introduced, I help ensure that everything complies with the required standards. I am also responsible for managing hygiene-related consumables. The variety of activities and interactions with different teams is what makes my role so interesting.
Can you tell us about your background?
I joined Ekibio in 2002, shortly after completing my scientific studies. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to explore different roles, including logistician, raw materials and packaging controller, which allowed me to gain a strong understanding of our operations. Wanting to broaden my knowledge and take on new challenges, I returned to education in 2017 through a work-study program. After earning a degree in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), I moved into my current role as a Quality Process Specialist.
You’ve been working for Ekibio for over 18 years, you must have seen some changes within the company?
Definitely. When I started at Ekibio, the Peaugres site was much smaller, with around 35 employees and two production units dedicated to biscuits and packaging. Since then, the company has grown considerably, welcoming many new colleagues and expanding its activities. It has been exciting to watch this development and to contribute to Ekibio's growth over the years while continuing to evolve professionally myself.
What do you like about your job?
What I enjoy most is solving problems and finding ways to improve how we work. When an issue arises, I like investigating its root cause and identifying solutions to prevent it from happening again. Contributing to continuous improvement is a key part of my role and something that motivates me every day.
I also value the people aspect of my job. Over the years, I have built strong relationships of trust with our production teams. We can speak openly when something needs to be improved, but we also take the time to recognize and celebrate our successes together.
How do you imagine the next few years?
Returning to education showed me that I was capable of achieving more than I had imagined. It gave me the confidence to keep learning, develop new skills, and take on new challenges. Over the next few years, I hope to continue growing professionally through further training and new opportunities, while contributing to Ekibio's continuous improvement and development.
What do you like about Ekibio?
Although the company has grown considerably over the years, it has managed to maintain a strong human dimension. When I joined Ekibio, the teams were much smaller and everyone knew each other. Even as the company expanded, that sense of closeness and accessibility has remained.
What I particularly appreciate is that people are recognized as individuals and not just as employees. There is a genuine culture of openness and connection, which creates a positive working environment.
I am also involved in the Works Council, which has given me the opportunity to help organize social, sports, and team-building activities. These events are a great way to bring colleagues together outside of work, strengthen relationships, and contribute to the friendly atmosphere that makes Ekibio an enjoyable place to work.
